Ahhh…Destination weddings. The sand between your feet, the ocean views, the breeze flowing through your hair and you’ve got yourself the makings of a beautifully themed seaside wedding! Jen & Reed’s wedding was held in Captiva Island at the South Seas Resort. What a gorgeous property with SO many possibilities. And not to mention, an impeccable staff. This couple had everything from an afternoon private pool party, to a Welcome dinner by the pool, complete with DJ and magician, to a wedding day luau on the beach complete with Volleyball and Ladder Golf, to the final step…a ceremony on the beach, at sunset, and an outdoor reception under the stars. This beautiful day started out with a trolley, which took guests from the resort to the ceremony on the beach. Because it was 90 degrees, we set up a table complete with Sangria, Tea and Lemonade, as well as set up an aromatherapy fan table. The fans were sprayed with scents of, lemon, lavender and sage, which went along with their words of description, such as revive, refresh & reuse. After the sunset ceremony, which guests stayed to watch, they were taken by trolley back to the reception, where they were greeted with cozy lounge furniture, fluffy pillows, fabulous canape’s, and delicious drinks, such as the “Signature Cocktail” – a blood orange martini. Then, all guests were escorted to their tables to sit under whimsical market lights and hanging grapevine balls bright with LED’s. They hung over the dance floor to create a whimsical and unique “back yard” feel on the beach.
The bride’s vision of her wedding was: light, airy, fresh and whimsical. We incorporated this “feel” into every corner of the wedding. Over 50 shepherds hooks held Orb Glass vases with LED lights and floating orchids, which encompassed the guests in a “glow”. The tables were draped in chiffon and floral textured table linens, and lots of candlelight on the table was created using LED’s inside Orb shaped Paraffin wax vessels. Soft pale shades of pink, peach and green flowers with lots of peonies, her favorite flower, were provided by Grymes Cannon Designs. From the dance floor, to the lights, to the welcoming breeze, it was all set to a dream like theme, the vision Jen had always wanted.
The music was a focal point for the Groom. We hired the fabulous Paul Vesco Orchestra as well as surprised the bride with a 90-minute “Diamond Rocks” show; a Neil Diamond cover band. The groom even got up with the band and serenaded the bride; one of her favorite moments of the night. A photo booth was provided by Limelight Photo Booths and an after party inside was complete with DJ, lavish dessert buffet, late night snacks and hundreds of Macarons, the bride and groom’s favorite New York delicacy.
All photos were taken by the mahhhvelous photographer, Concept Photography. They are a husband and wife team out of Orlando, FL who were delightful to work with as well as gracious and humble. They also rolled WELL with the punches so to speak, as there were a few last minute changes that affected them most. But, they made it all work.
