Real Wedding Featured on Southern Weddings Blog

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

vaness-and-scott_page000Southern Weddings is one of the most AMAZING bridal magazines available, which is why we are so excited to have one of our extraordinary weddings featured on their blog! The very talented Katie Thurmes, (Jenna Walker Photography) captured the moments of the day as they unfolded.   As you can see, not a single detail of their wonderful day went unnoticed! Through the eyes of the photographer (we told you she didn’t miss a thing!), Katie wrote the Southern Weddings article recounting the wedding day and gorgeous couple. We can help but share…

“There are no words to describe the graciousness and authenticity by which Vanessa and Scott embraced their wedding day. It was meant to be that classic mountain wedding – with their guests flying in from New York and elsewhere to see Colorado up close and personal. Using chairlifts they would ride to a ceremony at 10,200 feet. Mother Nature had other plans. The clouds came, followed by rain, by lightning. This was not the mountain wedding Vanessa and Scott had imagined. While the afternoon thunderstorm would shut down the chairlift and make for a transportation “situation” of sorts, it would not dampen the moods of Vanessa, Scott or any of their guests. As photographers, especially in Colorado, we see this sort of rain delay quite often. Yet, Vanessa and Scott were so keen to see the bright side of things – and the brighter side came around. And so it goes, the clouds cleared…making for serendipitous timing just as Dad was to walk his little girl down the aisle. All that rain as a reminder of the good things to come – the goodness they share in their life together. It was a beautiful day as Vanessa’s father married the two – not a dry eye on the mountain!”

SWS Blog

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008

As our weddings continue to make their way into National press and media, we are honored to have a couple of our weddings featured on the SWS blog www.swsmag.net/blog .  This blog is one of the most fabulous blogs we have come across in a long time.  We are inspired by many of the weddings they feature and we love to see a good mix of styles, colors, and oh so many fabulous details!!  Check out part 1 of Amy and Ryan, one of our favorite weddings, and one that will be featured on the show Platinum Weddings sometime early fall.

Also check out this fabulous wedding! We had one of our favorite “detail” weddings featured on the SWSblog as well.  This couple shared a love of Jazz and the Art Deco era, especially since the groom is a professional trobonist as well as an affinity for yellow, black and orange (due to the bride’s love of THE WIZARD OF OZ), and they weren’t afraid to step out of the box to wow their guests with their attention to detail.  With the bride as a Chef and the Groom as a Professional Trombonist, there were sure to be lots of fun things to incorporate into this affair. It is one of our fave use of colors and unique details…check it out on our gallery it will be added very soon!
